Recap of Semis-
The semifinal game against Furious George was expected to be a good one, and the size of the spectator crowd was appropriately large. Furious took the half 8-5 and stayed up by 3 all the way to 14-11. The game was capped at 15, and it looked like the Condors would be going home early. But after scoring to bring it to 14-12, the Condors got the "D" and scored: 14-13. Another "D" and another score: 14-14. The next point would end the game. Furious got the pull and worked it most of the way down the field until Taro got the "D" again. The Condors then went to work on "O," and before you knew it James hucked it into the endzone and Hollywood grabbed it. The Condors beat Furious with 4 unanswered points to win 15-14. Recap of Finals-
Just as in all the previous finals this year, the Condors met Jam. And as usual, the game was close and well played with a number of good spirit calls... especially by the Condors. Neither team was ever up by more than 2. The Condors got the "D" at 13-13, but gave it back and Jam scored for 14-13. Jam then got another "D" and scored to end the game. Personal Note: I want to congratulate the Condor players who played this weekend, especially Sunday, for stepping up to play such great games with a short squad. With injured and missing players, there were only 14 cleated Condors Sunday. It was warm and sunny all day but even in the 4th game of the day (finals), players like JD, Taro, Ryan Y., Andy, Mike, Ted, Jimmy, Shep, Greg and the others were hustling down the field to cover the pull and play awesome "D" and then often stayed in for the next point on "O." And this went on all game. I found it a great testament to not only their physical condition, but perhaps most of all to their mental conditioning and will to win.
